How to make notes. - Abhishek Singh

How to make notes.

  1. Both offline and online notes work. But online is much better as per me. I used evernote for my notes. Create various tabs as per syllabus to add content.

2. Should we make notes for both static and current.? Yes we should. For both i suggest online notes as it is easy to modify your notes and also add diagrams, flowcharts etc.

3. For static- follow standard textbooks for each subject. Identify themes through PYQ. Use ChatGPT. Use online search for each topic mentioned in the syllabus. Add the best content in your online notes.

4. For current affairs - don't make notes for prelims. Make only for mains. Mains demand is various Issues prevalent in public discourse. Prelims focuses on 'news' while mains focuses on 'issues'. Try to get the difference through PYQs.

5. Give color coding to your notes based on importance.

6. In your notes include- latest data, examples, SC judgements, committees, diagrams, readymade introduction and conclusion, quotes by famous personalities, government reports like NITI aayog and others, good keywords, etc. these give credibility to your answers.

7. Above points are more relevant for mains.

For prelims make only revision type notes. Add only those points to your notes which you are struggling to remember. Make notes only after multiple revision of your standard textbooks.

How to make notes post #2

1.The AIM program of next ias has been helpful to me for developing answer writing skills and note making skills for GS and Essay.

2. This will help you in answer writing and gives you a detailed plan for 1 year.

3. If you are willing to do hardwork and remain consistent then you can join this program.

Note: this program is only for those who have completed GS syllabus once and are well aware about broad things and are serious aspirants.
