History Optional Tip #4
Make one subject of each paper stronger than the other. For me, It was Ancient History in Paper 1 and World History in Paper 2. From this selected section, you will attempt more questions in the actual exam. Try to cover all the PYQs, memorise historiography and do more revisions of this subject.
Even after doing this, if you feel that you can answer the other section (your weaker subject) well, attempt that section. Have a flexible approach!
History Optional Tip #5
Historiography: You don't have to overdo the historiography in your answers but in some questions/topics writing historiography is necessary. For e.g. In 2023, there was a question on nature of Mughal State under Akbar which can be answered completely based on historiography. Similarly, we have Historiography on Drain of Wealth, De industrialisation, French Revolution, Sangam Age, Megalithic Culture etc. One needs to memorise historians in such sections very nicely. This will become clearer once I upload my main notes which would be done the end of this month.
