History Optional Tip #6

After repeated failures/low score, we get this feeling of changing our optional very often. Also, when you see people around you changing their optional or people spreading rumours that history optional isn't rewarding, you feel underconfident. I was in the same situation back in 2022. Now that I am in a position to say something on this I would like to clarify that no optional is ever 'butchered'/discriminated/marked low etc in UPSC. In 2020, when the paper was very tough/unconventional, then also some people scored 300+. It all depends on your preparation, hard work and some amount of smart work.
