Current affairs and newspaper
Many of you may have doubts about reading newspapers and covering current affairs. In my view, it is better not to start reading newspapers right away. Instead, focus on mastering static concepts in subjects like Polity and Economy first, so that the news starts making sense within that framework.
You can optionally choose to read The Hindu or The Indian Express, but I believe this isn't absolutely necessary. It depends on whether you can manage it alongside other preparation.
I suggest prioritizing a strong understanding of static content and PYQs (Previous Years' Questions).
You can go through PT365 for dynamic subjects like International Relations, Science & Technology, Environment, Economics, Government Schemes, and Bodies in News.
For Mains, the role of current affairs is marginal. The focus should primarily be on static subjects, and you can complete Mains 365 for dynamic topics.
Ultimately, it's your command over PYQs and the syllabus that will carry you through.
Current affairs become easier to handle once your static concepts are solid
