Many of you are having doubts on approach for Optional preparation. This is what one should Ideally follow-
Approach to Optional Preparation:
➡️ Begin by building a solid foundation for each syllabus topic using resources like coaching notes, video lectures, topper notes, or standard textbooks. Continuously revise topics as you cover them.
➡️ Regularly review previous years' questions (PYQs) to understand the type and structure of questions, but defer attempting them initially.
➡️ Treat content preparation as a dynamic process, consistently adding value with relevant case studies, examples, scholar contributions, statistics, etc., to enhance your material.
➡️ Once your core content is ready, focus on thorough revision to deepen conceptual clarity.
➡️ After 2-3 intensive revisions, create concise notes that condense the content to roughly 1/10th of the original length.
➡️ Incorporate PYQs into your notes at this stage, particularly those questions that highlight gaps in your material.
➡️ Maintain a habit of regularly revisiting and reinforcing your primary notes.
➡️ Continuously add value to your notes through insights from topper answer sheets, coaching supplements, and relevant current affairs.
➡️ In the period between Prelims and Mains, consider joining a test series to practice time management and answer writing under exam conditions.
🌐 Keep things simple- Understand topic—> revise it—-> add pyq—-> revise more—-> write tests.
Dont rush things— slowly steadily you win the race.
