Subject-Wise Preparation Plan
1 Polity: Study Indian Polity by M. Laxmikanth.
2 Economy: Cover macroeconomics using NCERTs and supplement with Mrunal videos.
3 Geography: Focus on Class 11 NCERTs both ncerts (Physical Geography and India: Physical Environment).
4 Environment: Refer to PMFIAS Notes or Shankar IAS Environment.
5 Art & Culture: Study selectively from Nitin Singhania’s book, based on previous years' questions (PYQs).
6 Ancient & Medieval History: Use Class 11 and 12 NCERTs (Themes in Indian History).
7 Science & Technology: Cover selectively from Vision IAS’s PT365.
8 International Relations: Focus on PT365.
9 Schemes/Bodies/Summits: PT365 is sufficient.
10 Mapping: Watch YouTube compilations on both static and current-affairs-based mapping.
11 CSAT:
• Dedicate 2 hours daily to practicing PYQs.
• If your basics are weak, watch topic-wise SSC CGL videos on YouTube.
PYQ (Previous Year Questions) Approach
1 Regularly review PYQs to ensure you’re on the right track.
2 Solve PYQs subject-wise and create detailed solutions for frequent revision.
3 Solve PYQs year-wise to identify patterns, such as how incorrect options are framed or common combinations used.
4 Develop insights into UPSC’s peculiar question-setting techniques by analyzing PYQs.
Question Practice
• Aim to solve 3000–5000 questions from quizzes, test series, and mocks.
