This was my strategy for Prelims.
- Making plans:
Please make sure you make plans for revision.
I had made a revision plan that was as follows:
1st Revision - 7 days per subject
2nd Revision- 4 days per subject
3rd Revision- 2 days per subject
2. Giving tests: It is important to give subject wise tests to understand how well you've integrated your knowledge. Don't take the score to heart, instead focus more on learning and strategy of attempting the questions.
3. PYQs
The most essential part of it, however, is PYQs. Practice it daily and analyse the answers. It will give you confidence. Don't just practice UPSC CSE questions but also GS questions asked by other exams conducted by UPSC like the CAPF, CDS, etc. Schedule a time for tests and PYQs. I used to practice around 2 hours daily from 9:30-11:30 AM
4. CSAT: Around 2-3 months before prelims, I kept a fixed time everyday for CSAT. I used to practice CSAT PYQs and other questions from 2:30-3:30 to wire my brain to work that time itself.
Constant revision and practice is what eventually aided me in clearing the most unpredictable paper of UPSC.
