Attempting the GS 1 paper

Attempting the GS 1 paper

I used to complete the paper in 3 iterations. Round one would be for the questions about which I am 100% sure. Second round would be for the 50-50 cases and third round would be for the questions where I have to choose from 3 options.

Marking the options

In first round, when I was completely sure that I know the answer then I would simply put a dot in the OMR sheet corresponding to that question. At the end of round 1, I would end up marking 35-40 dots in the OMR sheet. And then I would completely fill the bubbles.

Then I would go for second round in similar manner to the first round.

However, in the third round the time left would be less, So, i would simultaneously fill the complete bubble after arriving at the correct answer.

This technique helps to check panic-bubble marking which could lead to a troublesome situation if anyone of the question is wrongly marked in a hurry. It also keeps you in rhythm while reading the questions and arriving at the right answer.

Some people first mark the answers in the question paper and then try to fill the bubbles in the end. It could lead to time mismanagement and again panic-marking of the answers. If you just mark one answer wrongly, the all the answers get compromised in such a situation. So, take your call accordingly.

Also, trust your practice of PYQs and trust your instincts. If you have practiced well then it won't let you down. Anyhow we know just 35-40 questions in the paper. After that it's all our practice and intelligent guess work.

Note: If you have already found your way of attempting the paper and it is working for you then it's completely fine. And if someone is still confused about how to attempt the paper then one can follow this method and also modify it as per one's own comfort level.

All the best 💯
