This is a message for all those who are appearing for the Prelims on 25th May.

This is a message for all those who are appearing for the Prelims on 25th May.

Things to keep in mind:

  1. It is the time now to get back to revision and mocks can take a back seat for now (if you have already given >10 full lengths). Try to revise all your final sources atleast 2 times before now and prelims.

2. If you score low marks in any mock please don't demotivate yourself. I personally know people who were scoring in 50s and 60s in their Simulators and other FLTs but cleared the IFoS cutoff in Prelims as well. There is no direct correlation. Plus putting yourself under stress at this time will only reduce your marks in the final exam.( It's easier said than done but find a way to stay positive and calm.)

3. I am sure you must have decided that approximately how many questions you will be attempting in the exam, but just a suggestion, keep the number above 90. Practice attempting more questions.

4. Don't worry much about the current affairs and run behind updated PT365 mindlessly. Focus on your core static notes.

5. In the last 5 days before the exam, get the last 5 years papers printed out AS IT IS and attempt them from 9 to 11. Put that in your muscle memory. Plus you'll score good in those papers, that will boost your confidence.

6. If you struggle in CSAT, don't ignore it. Keep practising the the questions regularly, stay in touch with it. Don't let your stress about GS hamper your CSAT.

I understand the position you are in. I myself flunked Prelims twice before this attempt. Anxiety is normal, stress is normal. At times you'll feel that you will not get through, again. But trust me mindset matters a lot during the actual Prelims, be confident and you'll surprise yourself.

It's a request that ask doubts (if any) ONLY related to this year's prelims below this post.

I'll eventually be covering other things in due time.
