Plan to maximise next 95 days for mains 2025:

Plan to maximise next 95 days for mains 2025:

Divide the days into 3 phases of 45 days, 25 days and 20 days respectively.

Phase-1 (45 days): take 44 days into 4 slots of 11 days each +1 day as a reserved day for emergencies.

slot-1 : Gs-4 + optional paper -1 part A

Things to cover : Gs-4: revise theory from a standard source + write pyqs + make short notes for final revision. ( Do this for every slot in phase-1)

Short notes must include - definition of important terms in syllabus and examples.

slot-2 : Gs-1 + optional paper-1 part B ( can use resources like Vision VAM, Mains 365, etc)

slot-3: Gs-2 + optional paper-2 part A ( can use resources like Vision VAM, Mains 365, Governance Edsarrthi material)

slot-4: Gs-3 + optional paper-2 part B

In this phase I used to attempt optional tests and some GS tests(not all) as well,so that I get to know my mistakes early. This phase is little rigorous but believe me it decides your fate.

Answer writing should be done regularly in this phase, don’t put answer writing to later stage. Read daily , write daily. Atleast 4-5 questions should be written daily.

I used to write 1 essay every Sunday. Keep practising essay.

Simulation 1: After this phase 1, I wrote 4GS tests (1,2,3,4) in 2 days just like UPSC mains.

~END OF PHASE-1 (47 days gone)~

Phase-2: 25 days

1. This phase is about revision of what you have studied so far. Check yourself now, how’s your retention, filter out the content and make short notes which you would be using during your exams. This is the best time to prepare micro notes as now after writing a simulation you know what content should be filtered out.

2. Start writing test series every weekend, Saturday- one Gs paper, Sunday one optional paper or whatever suits you.

Divide 25 days into four slot of 6 days each +1 day as a reserved day for emergencies

slot-1: Gs-4 + optional paper-1 part A

slot-2: Gs-1 + optional paper -1 part B

slot-3: Gs-2 + optional paper-2 part A

slot-4: Gs-3+ optional paper-2 part B

Time for simulation 2: Those who are writing mains for the first time should write all GS again, it will take 2 days. Those who have written before need not go for this second time simulation, they can selectively write tests to improve targeted subjects.

~END OF PHASE 2 ( 74 days gone ) ~

Phase-3 (20 days) : Again this time too make 4 slots(4 days each) and use them in manner mentioned in above phases. Revision is the key in this phase.

Start scribbling pyq and test series answers to increase content retention in brain e.g. frame intros and headings to the Pyq and write brief points inside headings if you feel necessary.

In the next two days, revise as per your convenience. Though simulation is preferred to get mains ready.

Last 3 days will be at your disposal. Try to revise out of short notes and focus on staying healthy, at good head space. Revision strategy would be shared separately.

~END OF PHASE 3~

Note: This is not some “Rambaan” kind of strategy, but it works good as it has worked for me and my friends.

I wish you the best.
