My quest to make answers more Sociological & improve the scores:
.Contextual writing: there is so much of subjectivity in the Sociology questions they ask and we do have so much of freedom to write in our own interpretations, this happens mainly in application-oriented questions. Make sure you are addressing the core demand, maintain contextuality and don’t deviate much.
.Pyramid approach: Always write most important point/perspective first. Prioritisation is very important in humanities optional.
.Structuring and framwork: For some static questions, use standard definition, explain the concept, criticism, current relevance as conclusion.
.Standard definitions: It’s better to give standard definitions rather than writing in our own words. Sociology is a discipline hence the definitions have to be of thinkers and should include discipline core vocabulary.
.Thinkers: It’s better to have substantiate your pointers with thinkers more. Add as many thinkers as possible but don’t over do it. It’s more about perspectives than thinkers per se.
.Value-addition: such as examples, data, report findings can be added for the credibility according to the demand of the question.
.Conclusions: Conclusions need to be comprehensive and give that final sociological touch. Save some thinker/perspective for conclusion. Give some balanced sociological view if it is a analytical/comparative question.
.Writing with sub-headings: by highlighting the sociological key words.
.Generating sociological dimensions: if you are short of perspectives -> traverse through the entire syllabus and key words once and from there you can generate new dimensions.
.Use of Key words: Use Sociology vocabulary as much as possible, key words to be filled in the paper.
