Prelims Strategy
a. If I found some new things in NCERT/reference books not present in my notes, I would add them at relevant places. This allowed me to consolidate my material from an early stage.
b. Tried to make prelims specific write-ups for quick revision
c. Mapping - Refer Atlas as soon as a global/Indian place of significance crosses your eyes, also analyse features like bordering countries/states, water bodies, mountain ranges etc.
d. In order to track revision efficiency, I took a print out of Vision IAS prelims test series schedule which has micro-pointers for every subject. I used to highlight it with each revision iteration. This helped me for other subjects as well.
e. Gathered random facts/events systematically
Mains strategy
a. Tried to identify repeatedly asked themes from PYQs
b. Used maps of India/World wherever applicable
c. Used internet extensively esp. for world geography and industrial locations
