Shivam Kumar - Current affairs for Prelims

Current affairs for Prelims:

Prelims is evolving each year. One cannot completely ignore the importance of current affairs. However, it is also crucial to avoid placing excessive emphasis solely on current affairs. Therefore, a balanced approach is necessary.

Static >>>> Current Affairs

The primary focus should be on covering static topics thoroughly and revisiting them multiple times. This approach is crucial as the cutoff is determined based on the knowledge of static subjects. Cutoff to static clear karwayega.

What to read for current affairs for prelims (what I read):

Monthly Magazines: One reliable monthly magazine or refer to PT 356 at the end. Monthly magazines provide detailed coverage of topics, making them suitable for newcomers.

Newspaper Reading: Over time, I realised the significance of regular newspaper reading (although I couldn't do it consistently). It aids in enhancing understanding for mains and also helps in retaining important facts and events for prelims.

Notes for Newspapers: Personally, I believe that taking separate notes for newspapers can be avoided since monthly magazines usually cover the same content.

Revision through MCQs: I used to follow freely available daily MCQs for practicing current affairs (during office time). One can follow any such source.
