General studies paper 1 is the most 'static' in nature. The syllabus broadly covers history, geography and society.
Topic : Art and culture
Here, the syllabus has keywords like sculpture, paintings and pyqs have been asked much in line with it.
Sources : Lucent 🫠, 11th ncert arts waali and pyq
X factor : there are 3 things
- Mention chronology /dates /era
2. Diagrams of stupa, maurya pillars if so required
3. Quote scholars and authors such as Al Bhasm, RS sharma , Romila Thapar in your answers.
Topic : Modern history
Sources remains the same as prelims
Just extract and rearrange the same info theme wise as mentioned in the syllabus. Major events, names, contributions etc.
X factor in answers remain the same.
Topic : World history and post independence history
Source : Old ncert arjun dev for world history and Indian politics new ncert for Post independence, I referred to toppers notes of (available on their channels)
Shreyansh Kumat sir and
Arpit gupta sir.
Alongwith this, referring to pyqs is a must.
X factors includes map in world history if relevant.
Topic : Geography
Syllabus keywords has volcanoes, landslides etc . Pyqs have been confined to geomorphology, climatology mostly.
Sources : Ncert (old and new) 11th and 12th GC leong only for vegetation types (rubber question in gs1 could be answered on his equatorial climate chapter).
I also referred to toppers notes of
- Shubham kumar sir and
2. Kanishk Kataria sir
X factor
- Diagrams and thematic maps in geography. Must for every answer and it comes naturally. But has to practiced earlier.
Topic : Society
Sources included
Ram Ahuja ki book
Sociology ncert 11th and 12th and toppers notes of
- Shubham kumar sir
2. Shubham bhaisre sir
3. Ashish Mishra sir
4. Arpit gupta sir
X factor includes
- Data for social justice answers
2. Contemporary examples. Diverse in nature
3. Quoting scholars like Ram ahuja, Ramchandra Guha and MN Srinivas etc.
The answers to this part must have a touch and feel of contemporary nature, while the answers to history and geography must have a textbook feel.
