These 2 blogs are always the starting point for everyone preparing with Electrical engineering. I have nothing more to add apart from the wisdom already shared by my great predecessors.
My tryst with these subjects have been long. Starting from my btech, then GATE 2015 (Instrumentation rank 24), ESE 2020 (ECE-Rank 33 ) and ESE 2021 (Electrical reached till interview stage).Over these many years, I have referred to a lot of text books.
I am adding my topics wise books which are most relevant for CSE
Paper 1
- Circuits : Book by Sadiku , D roy Chowdhury and Van Valkenburg.
2. Signals and Systems: Schaum series book by Hwei Hsu, Oppenheimer, Ramesh Babu
3. Electromagnetic: Book by Sadiku
4. Analog Electronics : Boylestad, Sedra smith and Neaman for core bjt, fet part
Gayakwad and D Roy Chowdhury for op amp related part
5. Digital: Morris mano and Thomas floyd
6. Machines : Ashfaq Hussain and Kothari
7. Power Electronics: Bhimbra
8. Analog Communication: Schaum series book by hwei hsu, Simon Haykins, Sanjay Sharma
Paper 2
- Control systems : BC Kuo, Norman Nise, K Ogata, Nagrath
2. Microprocessor: 8085 by Ramesh Gaonkar
3. Measurement: Sawhney
4. Power Systems: Stevenson, Ashfaq Hussain, Kothari Nagrath, Wadhwa
5. Power Systems protection: Wadhwa and Badri Ram
6. Digital communication: Schaum series by Hwei Hsu, Sanjay Sharma
Overall my strategy has been to refer standard books, make notes out of them and work out their solved examples.
I have barely relied on coaching booklets except for Ace academy ese mains booklets, their content was top-notch.
I did not attempt any test series, either in cse or ese.
I am also uploading my notes herewith.
Hope this helps the community :)
